TEN OF THE BEST: Week 18

It can’t be a normal Monday without TEN OF THE BEST right?! This week we come through with more of the same, a random selection of tunes which have been banging on my spotify playlist in recent times. Have a listen!

Check out the spotify playlist at the bottom of this post:

This week’s playlist, in no particular order:

Evolutionary – Nattali Rize X Dre Island X Jah9

This week we kick off with this amazing tune from Nattali Rize alongside the wicked Dre Island and Jah9. The vibe on this one is very very real, it has a good bounce to it and sound is right on point. Pull up my selector.

High Life – IamStylezMusic

Another entry from IamStylezMusic, and again it is a big tune. This guy just got on my radar a few weeks ago and he has literally stormed in. Very good sound, great production and the vocal delivery is on point too.

Put A Fyah In Deh – Lutan Fyah

Lutan Fyah is a legend in my book, the man hardly ever puts a foot wrong. This song is definitely not an exception as Lutan delivers his song with such mastery. The lyrical content is on point and the way he attacks the riddim is undeniably good.

Nobody – Wizkid

Wizkid again? Ok folks, maybe this will be my last Wizkid tune in a while as even I can admit that I have featured him so much on this playlist. Do you blame me though, star boy is on a  level and his tunes force their way in the playlist. This one is a big tune still and its inclusion is fully justified.

Glass House – Collie Buddz

So Collie Buddz released an album in May which virtually fell under my radar, well not for long. This tune is a typical Collie Buddz tune, easy to listen to, great vibes, and tonnes of replay value. Big tune alert.

Fimi Island – Christopher Martin

Speaking of easy listening tunes, this one is a nice sounding reggae tune from the one like Christopher Martin. The crooner comes through with a very nice song and you know his vocals are as crisp as ever and he never misses a beat.

Rum Punch – Footsteps X SNE

I really don’t know how to classify this tune, and somehow it ended up on my playlist. That said, it is a good tune and that’s the entire point of doing this playlist, to discover new music and get to hear tunes I wouldn’t normally listen to. Play that one again my selector.

Selassie Children – Chronixx

Chronixx is another artist that fits the Wizkid bracket, he has been in more TEN OF THE BEST playlists than he has missed out which says a great deal about the super talented artist. Selassie Children is a very laid back tune, but I love it, especially the change up towards the end of the song. Great energy.

Morals – Bugle

I featured this riddim in the early editions of the playlist with Kabaka Pyramid’s cut. Bugle’s version is just as good, if not better, and it has been stuck on my playlist for the last few weeks. Big big tune.

Move Yuh Feet – Runkus

A few up tempo reggae tune by another artist that has been on heavy rotation on my playlist. I can see this one being rocked at many a dance and raising the temperature on the dancefloor. Awesome vibes on this one, nuff said.

Well that’s it for this week , hope you will check out next week’s selection.
